“And I couldn't tell him
That I was writing,
That he was the one,
Who flushed my words,
From my soul,
And out in ink.
For even if he weren’t there,
These words were,
Forever.”
“And I couldn't tell him That I was writing, That he was the one, Who flushed my words, From my soul, And out in ink. For even if he weren’t there, These words were, Forever.”

"I suppose their relationship really wasn't anything out of the ordinary. In fact, it really was quite simple. It started in a shop, in an airport, waiting for layovers to expire. And a coffee was had. Coffee and conversation. Simple conversation at that. And because it was so ordinary, and because it was so simple, it was so special. Because when two step so fluidly as one, right as it's begun, there isn't anything ordinary about that. Which makes everything so simple."

“They looked at it funnily,
just sitting there in the middle of the street.
It was a couch,
waiting to fulfill its purpose,
waiting for someone to sit.
And it was like it’d been there for months,
faded and tattered,
except that it was in the middle of the street,
underneath the stoplight,
with our headlights shining on it.
And we kind of sat there in our cars
and we wondered how it got there,
but we knew it really didn’t matter.
And as we drove around
we silently decided
what better a place than amongst it all,
to pause in sequence,
to stop a moment we’d otherwise forgotten.
And we wished we would have sat…
And so we wondered how long it’d take,
how many people would pass,
and how many people would pause.
To take a moment that they wouldn’t get back.
To sit in the street and watch all others at pace.
But they were too busy,
and no one sat.
They all drove past.”

“And at that moment in time, I was okay with being his heartbreak. Because I knew that without it, he could not have written what he wrote, or felt as deeply as he felt. And although these feelings, I could not share, I knew he’d be better for it. And we’d all be okay. And we’d all be artists, inspired by one another.“

“He was the sort of person who picked up stray dogs on the side of the road and went up house to house for seven miles until he found the owner. She didn’t know why she couldn’t love him when she loved everything about him...”

“She had this realization as she looked out at the green, that they would all fall. Every leaf was going to fall. And sure enough, autumn came.”

"She always liked airports, something about the appearance of chaos rooted in deep structure. She liked unruly gardens in the same way; the ones where the leaves intertwined with one another and you couldn't quite tell which budding flower belonged to which plant. I think she liked it because even in her mess, she was going to make it through. There was a fate even if she couldn't feel it. And she decided everything was going to be okay."

"The lines were simply drawn, intertwining upon the page, flowing into one another without competing. And the faces were formed, and the lips interlocked, and a single line spoke a lot. And we felt the feelings of a single line which didn't stop. And the artist let it all out, and cried water." #womenwhowrite #inkbleed #love #broken #art #igwriters #lovesmith #poetry #instapoet #quote #poetrycommunity #writerscommunity #igpoems #artist #words #poetsoninstagram #poemoftheday #poems #water #writersoninstagram #spilledink

"He drove into the brush of overgrown flowers and petals that were losing their clutch. And the bicycle wheels felt the friction of grasses growing, but ahead he went, to find, what he’d been looking for, even though he wasn’t sure what it looked like, or felt like, or smelled like, or sounded, but he was leading the right direction, and he road into the friction of fallen flowers." #bicycleride #womenwhowrite #inkbleed #love #wild #broken #igwriters #lovesmith #poetry #instapoet #bicycle #quote #poetrycommunity #writerscommunity #flowers #igpoems #words #poetsoninstagram #flowerpower #poemoftheday #poems #nature #writersoninstagram #spilledink #overgrown

"In his quietness, also came a slight awkwardness in physical expression, and she should have known that with such a sabbatical on their relationship, in such a public place, a hug would be all he could manage. Little did she know, how much she really meant to him. How badly he had wanted to take the back of her head with both hands, sliding onto the edge of her cheeks, and kiss her so keenly, right there, outside the terminal next to the passenger pickup sign. But he didn't. He was always second-guessing her desire for him." An oldie but a goodie. "She was different, in a spectacular kind of way. And her countenance shown. And with each encounter, people wondered, what it was, that gave her such, joy."

"Sometimes, it seemed, as if we were only waiting to watch the fish jump, only to be discouraged by fading ripples in the sea. And a slight splash was a breath let out, leaving our eyes to wane over the mesmerizing current of the windy water." #womenwhowrite #inkbleed #love #broken #igwriters #lovesmith #poetry #instapoet #quote #poetrycommunity #writerscommunity #multiply #igpoems #words #spilledink #ripples #poetsoninstagram #poemoftheday #poems #water #sea #writersoninstagram #fishing #waiting
