Pourquoi donc faire une distinction de sexes ici ?
Eh bien, comme je l’ai entendu dire dans un spectacle récemment, les hommes et les femmes sont égaux…mais différents ! Cela veut dire que nous devons avoir les mêmes droits et les mêmes devoirs, mais que, clairement, en règle générale, nous ne sommes pas vraiment faits pareils. Notamment sur le plan physique et physiologique.
Sauf exceptions, et il y en a bien-sûr, un homme va être plus grand et plus musclé qu’une femme. En revanche, la plupart des femmes sont plus souples que leurs amis hommes. Et surtout, plus les hommes pratiquent de sports et de musculation, plus cela leur rend les postures de souplesse difficiles !

Announcing next month’s challenge: !!! Gravity plays a pivotal role in our practices and affects us all, whether we realize it or not. Sometimes we can do a pose but, when we change the relationship body-gravity, it becomes very difficult or, the other way around, a pose that was unattainable or too complicated, changes dramatically once you flip/turn/pivot it in your body. When I designed this I thought of 14 poses that I could ‘move’ in space, so they’d be felt differently when shifted. In the 2nd half of the challenge, we’ll be doing the same 14, only changing their orientation/relationship with gravity, so we can use it to our advantage, even defy it!!! Day 1 and 15 are a pair, day 2 and 16 too and so on until day 14 and 28 so, basically, we’re going twice through the same group of asanas. This will give a broader spectrum on how to poses that you might feel stuck. Chances are if we, literally, change the way we look at them, we’ll come up with ideas, solutions, tips and ways to advance our practice and deepen our knowledge. It’s a lot less complicated and WAY more fun than it sounds, I promise!!! Join in and let me prove it to you! Look what I discovered today👀
I can do a side crow!!!!!! Core and upper body are getting stronger and more open. So freaking exciting!!! My brain was also much quieter today. Maybe it was the new mattress and sheets🤷♀️
I did a little drill to burn out. I hop into crow and hold as long as I can then continue each side. This went goes until I can’t handle another without smooshing my face into my mat😅
Days 5&6 3wk Yoga Retreat is in the books. Can’t wait to see where I am at the end this time🧘🏻♀️

All those years ago, on this day, i cried as I let go, and today i cry as I celebrate the day i decided to love myself again. ❤️
Being human is an experience filled with both triumphs and tragedies. At times we feel beautiful and empowered, immortal even. Other times we are broken and recluse. We can be strong and fearless one moment and the next we can feel hopeless and weak. It’s poetic, the way the soul and the spirit and the heart can all break and break but never truly be broken. We continue to fight, to press forward, to rise from the pain and the anguish to seek the greatest of experiences in life time and time again: joy, love, compassion, even once they’ve left us bitter and in despair. This life is temporary. Within the acceptance that time is forever fleeting we find that this journey is irrevocably beautiful 💕

Can you be better than you are now?
I asked this on my last post and received so many amazing thoughts on this question.
To share my opinion, the simple answer is no. As with all questions of the future, it is an impossibility to be anything other than what you are now since now is all there is.
Much of our suffering comes from us wanting things to be different than what they are. The Buddha says that suffering comes from desire (wanting what you don’t have) and aversion (not wanting what you have).
Our nature is to want to be better than who we are and want what we don’t have and therefore we often suffer. Understanding the truth really helps to alleviate this innate suffering. Yoga teaches us to practice tapas and santosha. Through tapas we practice giving our best to this moment. Through santosha we find contentment in the truth that this moment could never be different.
The future is only an idea that helps us understand our reality. Because we know change inevitable, we see continuous change in the present moment. While you can never be better then who you are now, what you do now makes you the best person you can be now.

Trying to keep myself motivated as I head into week 3-4 of my slowwww, wedding cut. Not trying to do anything too crazy, just keeping it simple.
🔅In this picture I’ve done a hard flex (air is fully exhaled) and taken first thing in the morning 🤗 😂😂
💧 1 gallon, some days gallon and 1/2
🌱 Still doing one day a week of protein fasting
🥦 Volume from as many vegetables as I like
🐮 Animal proteins in moderation (simply because I’ve been tryinggg to cut down on the animal meat consumption)
🍚 carbs- loosely tracked, trying to stay more complex than refined but sometimes refined is just too tasty 😋🤤
👉 I stick to my 80/20 guideline, 80% clean, 20% fun. ☝️Moderation not deprivation!

•Yoga home practice 🧘♀️
•Some gym time 🏋️♀️ 🏃🏻♀️
•Indoor bouldering 🧗♀️
•Lastly, pure barre with @purebarrebelmar 👯♀️
This has been such a fun and challenging addition! (plus, the super nice instructors make it so easy to always come back!) My girl @qkn___ introduced me to it a few months ago and I’ve enjoyed it since. I’m rhythmically challenged w/ not much coordination 😂so it’s an equal mental and physical activity 🧠.
After consistently taking classes I’ve noticed it has really helped to further strengthen my core and pelvic floor, which in turn has significantly helped me improve in all of my other activities.
✋❗️Don’t be so quick to write off barre as a workout. Every class kicks my 🍑 and consistently leaves me sore in the biggest anddd tiniest of places ☺️
This is what I’ve learned during my years of fitness stuff-find things you love to do and be consistent. You’ll look forward to it every time, and it won’t feel like a chore. There’s no right or wrong way to find your healthy.

Welcome to DAY 2 of 💃🏼💃🏼
Day 2 brings us Kundalini to dancing shiva. . .
As you can see - I am starting in a standing split (a sad one😨😂) and then going to kundalini - mostly because this a natural place to come into kundalini from - and you’ll see teachers cue it this way. Basically - you bring the top leg behind the standing leg and bend knees squatting down - this is a great pose to test your balance - you can have both hands planted - or just one - or try to balance with hands in prayer.... again- I think the best advice in this transition is to move slow with an active core and let your gaze be the last thing to shift as you find your balance. It’s a lot harder than it looks!! .
You can start right in kundalini - or try coming from standing splits if that feels more natural. .
