I was starting to feel a bit restless, as if I'd been home a bit too long. A solo trip to Portland was just what I needed!
Late last night, I found out my 5:30am flight back home the next morning had been cancelled (shout out to the last day of Mercury in retrograde). Being my ever adventurous self, I decided to make the most of the extra half a day in Portland I'd been given.
My Mission: Walk aimlessly in search of street art! No GPS, no map, just my two feet and my gut feeling of, "I bet there's something amazing down this way!" to guide me.
Portland, you didn't disappoint! On my return visit, the new mission will be "More Nature, Less Concrete". Until then, enjoy these works of art I found whilst wandering! Thanks, PDX. #portland #sundaymorning #stroll #pdx #city #wander #streetart #murals #solotravel
A little reflection this Sunday before I turn off my phone and pamper myself (post wedding weekend tradition is massage/pedicure). As a little girl I didn’t dream about my own wedding day. For me, it was always about the right person, our home and family together. I never imagined being a Coordinator....I always wanted to work in healthcare. I ended up deciding to work a full time job coordinating on top of my full time job in healthcare as an outlet to awaken and utilize that other side of me that sometimes a desk job can suppress. I’m organized and OCD, responsible, punctual and of course love to plan and be creative but for me, there’s more to being a Coordinator. I’ve worked various jobs and have been privileged with a vast variety of experiences and I love applying those skills, lessons and experiences to my work as a Coordinator. I started babysitting when I was 12, so when a flower girl throws a tantrum, I can help calm her down. I’ve volunteered in nursing homes, so when your grandpa tries to remember his name and tell me how happy he is to be attending your wedding, I don’t mind giving him a few extra moments. I’ve worked retail jobs (Walgreens, Ann Taylor, Pottery Barn) and various waitressing jobs so I’ve learned customer service skills, fashion tricks and styling/design tips. I was in a sorority so I see other girls as friends and sisters and not as threats. I can handle the banter from your tipsy, inappropriate groomsmen (and keep them in check, thanks to growing up with two older brothers). I’ve traveled around the world and have a respect for all cultures and religions. I’ve been a flower girl, bridesmaid, MOH, officiant and even jumped in to help a struggling caterer at a wedding before. So when your officiant is having writers block, I can help guide them with writing your ceremony. If you need someone to look over a toast to make sure it’s appropriate, I’m your girl. I’ve stood in their shoes. I know how they’re feeling. I’m from the east coast, so I’ll speak up on your behalf, have uncomfortable conversations on your behalf, defend you, vouch for you, and always have your best interest at heart.Anybody can plan a party, bu #wedding #pdx #theknot #word #thisiswhoiam #oregonbridemagazine #white #weddingdress #weddingwednesday #portlandoregon #style #venue #portland #planner #portlandbride #stylemepretty #oregonbrides #pnwonderland #thisisme #wanderingweddings #fashion #sayyestothedress #pnwlife #writing #portlandia #weddingday #plannerlife #gown #pnwedding #oregonbride
