When people ask me how many kids I have...I always get a crazy response🤣
“OMG!! How do you do it with 6 kids?” Honestly, if I didn’t have such a supportive husband...I probably would lose my mind!😂
And this guy here, Mr. Dominic, is always ready to help where needed!
I hope they all stay very close and continue lending a hand when needed❤️❤️
Charlie Grace 6 months old today and has her Christmas outfit all sorted...! 😍
Guys if this doesn't make you feel at least a wee bit Christmassy then I don't know what will!
She seems to be rocketing through her first year at lightening speed....slow down already. I can't imagine life without her as she has just slotted on in like shes always been here. She is very well loved by everyone that she meets....her squishy-ness quite possibly has a lot to do with that.
Lover of snuggles and nighttime drinks, food and sitting with her toys, bath time and her jolly jumper. Loves to give sloppy kisses and one-toothed grins.
Dislikes being in the car too much, sweet food and sudden loud noises.
Full of joyful faces, da-da-da, chunky rolls, and quiet and contemplative chilled moments.
Growing out of size 1 clothes and into 1 1/2s.😜 These 6 months has been full of huge changes for us as a family and for me personally. Our family looks different now and certainly feels different. I am slowly getting my head around having the kids in school and kindy and all that encompasses....mufti days, homework, class trip and book character days. 😜
I am sensing that God is really working in me at the moment as I am processing these momentous events, working through physical and mental remnants of a very difficult birth and adjusting to the changing seasons of roles, responsibilities and relationships. I see that God is removing and scaling things back....but at the same time amping things up in other areas. I am spending a lot of time alone and in conversations with Him....so much so I am beginning to wonder if He ever gets sick of my voice. I don't think the process is over yet.🙄 But I do know that if God is in it...then it can only be good. God is good. So good. All the time.

Today we celebrate the Feast Day of Saint Margaret of Scotland.
Patron Saint of death of children, large families, learning, queens, Scotland and widows.
St. Margaret (c. 1045-1093) was the great-niece of St. Edward the Confessor. She was a Saxon princess, raised in Hungary in exile.
Returning to England, she had to flee once again after the Battle of Hastings, to the court of Malcolm, the King of Scotland, whom she married shortly thereafter.
She proved to be a model mother and exemplary queen who brought up her eight children in an atmosphere of great devotion and worked hard to improve the morality of her subjects. I struggle with our morning routine -- not the getting up and breakfast part -- but after that when they all scatter to get dressed, showers, morning chores -- how do I get them all back to start our group school stuff in a timely manner without screaming? Without micromanaging? Without walking the halls, huffing, nagging, prodding? -- cause all those make the kids dependent on ME to make sure the tasks are complete.
We're working hard on personal responsibility this year and laying the responsibility on the kids shoulders. Because as an adult they will have to manage their own time and make choices on their own.
I found this tip from @simplycharlottemason -- create a playlist of your favorite songs (that will last about 10-15min). Use the playlist as your "timer" -- play the music for the entirety of the playlist -- letting the kids know (like musical chairs) that when the music stops they need to be ready for lessons to start (or in bed ready for a story, or by the door with their backpacks on -- with their shoes on, ready to go). It will only take the kids a day or two to figure out which is the last song or two -- and hurry along to finish. Then I will only have to worry about the consequence(s) for the children who took their sweet a$$ time and didn't get "to school" on time -- no screaming, no getting annoyed, and I can focus on playing with the little two so their "love cup" is full and I can focus on the bigs for a bit.
I really think this is going to be amazing. I love listening to music to get me motivated and energized. So I'm jazzed to try this. I think the kids will really love it too. And I can change the playlist every month, quarter, to spice it up... altho, I think for added McLaughlin fun I would hit shuffle one day for my pure pleasure. 🤣
