Brain ache
Been stuck in spreadsheets all day, not used to it and don’t like it, but sometimes you just got to do it.
Anyway it was good to move and wanted to move through the T spine and hips as I have been sat a lot.

How do you know if you’re doing enough cardiovascular training? On the layer two assessments we ask everyday people (if they pass the layer one assessments) to complete a 1 mile run test. .

We ask someone to run 1 mile, as quickly as possible and compare the time to these standards:
Women under 50: Over 8:30 = Rookie, 7:00-8:30 = Explorer, Under 7:00 = Pro.

Men under 50: Over 8 minutes = Rookie,  6:30-8:00 = Explorer, Under 6:30 = Pro.

The above standards are only guideline and a matter of opinion. We’ve formed these opinions after many years of taking everyday people of all ages and abilities for one-mile test runs.

Push Press...a movement I first started doing with a barbell years ago, in high school and in college as well.

Great exercise, even better with kettlebells.. why? Wrist positioning.. the unique design of the kettlebell & of-loaded weight allows the wrist to remain straight/locked, the barbell (and dumbbell) does not. 
A bent wrist + heavy load = extra stress in the wrist- to the elbow- to the shoulder, eventually leading to discomfort and potentially injury.

When I think of a good reason to workout, to me, it’s so you can function in life like you’re designed to. Like you’re meant to. That’s it.

I don’t think of gains or losing weight. I think of having your entire body aligned so you can LIVE fully.
•
Gains are fantastic, but what good are gains if you can’t hold a fork properly, or twist around to look behind you when you reverse your car?
•
Cardio is phenomenal! But how much is your run time gonna help you when you need to lift a box (and act like it’s a mans place to do it. *Equal rights* COUGH).
•
Being a properly optimised human and enjoying being in flow are the really long term gains.
•
The hormetic stress teaches your body how to deal with actual stress...not stupid e-mails.
•
I’m incorporating a body weight foundation element to my workout. (Standard range of human motion)
Adapting into involving kettlebells (Better than linear up and down strength training that can cause all sorts of muscle imbalances) and yoga.
•
This unconventional style is for the purpose of moving your body through full range movements. Work out multiple parts, whilst enjoying the flow & meditative state of yoga pre warm ups and post decompression.

GAINS & WEIGHT LOSS are a side effect of your effort made.

We’ve had some people reach out asking what kind of equipment we have for our #backyardworkouts 🏋🏻‍♀️🏋️‍♂️
Right now we are working with a 15lbs medicine ball, a set of 5lbs and 8lbs dumbbells, cones, ladder, yoga mat, and ropes. 
Most of our workouts are #bodyweightworkout 💪🏻💪🏻
We are hoping to get a full rack of #dumbbells and #kettlebells sometime in the near future. But for now this is our #homegym 
We also will bring in a chair for dips until we can get a #jumpbox 
It’s a modest start buts it’s really been helpful this past month getting our #weightlossjourney started. We hear a lot of people say they can’t believe we workout in the dark or get up so early. But we finally decided we were ready for a change and #noexcuses became our motto. Getting up early and going outside was the best way to fit exercise into our busy days with work and 2 small kids. It was the only way we could get it done. 
Plus working out together really has kept us #motivated and on track.

Day 25 of my 80 day program. The first 24 Days were mainly cardio-intensive. For the next 28 days I’ll be focusing on weight / resistance /compound movement training. Over the last year I haven’t really done much work with the barbell, but it’s time to get back under the bar! Went light today, with some fun movements.
