Before #mankind existed, random mutations of #DNA aka #deoxyribonucleicacid were the only way for #nature to #improve, but this changed with the #evolution of complex #language in our #species.
Whereas our bodies need millions of years to adapt, our #minds - with which we usually #identify ourselves with - can progress extremely fast by #sharing the high quality #information and programs that we possess socially.

I added this book to my list after listening to @mindpumpadam ‘s recommendation. What a book! Simon Sinek brings to light the simple but essential concept of “Why” - the primary cause that is linked to the true purpose and identity of people, companies, and even social movements. Sinek uses Apple as one example to describe how their believe in thinking differently and empowering individuals is the cause of their success. Dell, HP, Sony and other companies can copy what Apple does and how it does it, but it won’t be the same. There is something more which proves that people don’t buy “What” you do, they buy “Why” you do it. The “Why” concept also applies to our work environment where job satisfaction is felt when those around you share the same values and beliefs. It’s not the work we do that inspire us, it’s the cause we come to work for that builds a long lasting symbol. This concept makes us pose the question of why we do what we do everyday, how our “Why” can help us differentiate achievements vs success, and how remaining in balance and authentic is the most difficult part. Sinek says that your “Why” comes from looking back. Steve Jobs told us to connect the dots backwards. It seems that we have to look back to find our unique core element which is born out of our typical routines and life experiences. And learning our “Why” certainly starts with one thing: You. Thank you Simon, I see things now with another perspective.
