“Why Us?” Each passing day, I feel more empowered working with underrepresented groups and connecting great leaders with one another. Just with Latino civil rights, I’m continuing my work with the LGBTQ community. Adelante! 💯🏳️🌈👍🏽.

Slide one: "Symptoms of Mania That No One Talks About
When you're manic, some symptoms are exactly what you expect: losing sleep, hyperactivity, etc.
But some manic symptoms don't seem to fit what we traditionally think of mania, and can cause confusion and distress to those experiencing a manic episode."
Slide two: "- Shaking - Feeling many intense emotions all at once (including intense sadness)
- sensitivity to anything that causes a shift in mood (listening to a sad sing makes you intensely sad. Eating lunch makes you SO happy!)
- Feeling like time is slowing down or speeding up
- Feeling like your brain is tired but your body isn't

Lock & Shade is officially a GENDER NEUTRAL salon! We are now charging based on time and technique NOT gender. When you think about it, it doesn't make sense any other way. Every appointment we take is a custom experience tailored to you, so why do we charge two different price points automatically? We care about the time and technique put into each appointment, not what gender that client may be. It's 2018 people.. we have women coming in for fades, men with long hair down their backs, clients that embrace a style all their own. 1️⃣Women are sick and tired of paying more for the same products and services as men 2️⃣ Our male clients get just as much TLC and attention to detail as our female clients, and sometimes that just takes longer than your average "men's cut" allows for.
And MOST importantly 3️⃣ with a growing number of trans, gender fluid, non-binary clients this feels like the best way to accommodate everyone. How can we be true to our Come As You Are mentality when we essentially ask people to identify just to make an appointment? NO MORE. We feel hair salons sometimes have a long way to go when it comes to being inclusive or socially progressive, we're happy to try and do what we can to change that. So from here on out Lock & Shade is a gender neutral salon with appointment price points based on length/time/technique required and which stylist you see (don't worry, trust us, it's not confusing at all!). See our website for more pricing information, and if you have questions feel free to ask! ❤️🗝 #endthepinktax #transrights #genderneutral #genderneutralhair #repost #asburypark #lockandshade #equality #lgbtq
