Zack is the total package. He’s young, intelligent, gorgeous, and he’s also the CEO of a very successful construction company. No wonder men despise him while women throw themselves at his feet.
When a friend insists Zack wouldn’t know a hard day’s work if it hit him in the face, he has no choice but to prove his friend wrong. But what Zack didn’t count on was getting distracted by the brown-eyed beauty from sales and marketing.
Claire is feisty, confident, and has the potential to become a huge complication. Yet he can’t stop wanting her in ways which are completely inappropriate since…well, he’s her boss.
But she doesn’t know that. Not yet, anyway.
So, for now, he’ll keep his teeny-tiny secret and be her boss…undercover. Slightly ironic that this is what I was reading when going to A&E last night and have finish whilst recovering at home today. Made the whole thing even more surreal than normal 🙈
But the book is every bit as brilliant as the hype suggested. How @amateuradam can write some of these stories with such heart & such humour is beyond me. Excellent book, highly recommend.
I’m fine btw - kidney & bladder infections (again 🙄) but knowing the signs I was in A&E before the sepsis took hold so they got everything under control quickly and was sent home with some strong antibiotics 💕

Herbert Hoover, 31st President of the U.S., 1929-1933.
“I prefer to think of Iowa as I saw it through the eyes of a ten-year-old boy” - Herbert Hoover.
“Herbert Hoover was born at West Branch, Iowa, on August 10, 1874. His elder brother Theodore was born on January 28, 1871. His younger sister May was born September 1, 1876.
His father, Jesse Clark Hoover, was born at West Milton, Ohio, September 2, 1846, and died from typhoid fever at the age of 34 in West Branch, December 10, 1880, Herbert being then six years old. His mother, Huldah Minthorn Hoover, was born at Burgersville, Norwich Township, Ontario, Canada, on May 4, 1848, and died of pneumonia at the age of 34 on February 24, 1883. Herbert being then eight years old.” pg. 1
“My recollections of my mother are more vivid and are chiefly of a sweet-faced woman who for two years kept the little family of four together. She took in sewing to add to the family resources. It was only years later that I learned of her careful saving of the $1000 insurance upon my father’s life in order that it might help in our education.”
“After her death our home was necessarily broken up.” - Herbert Hoover
