Back from my vacation, what means I am back in the gym and healthy eating 🏋🏼♀️ When I am on vacation, I am really on vacation. I don’t work out and eat all the (vegan) foods I want! I don’t restrict my self anything, so when I want a dessert, I will have a desert. When I want 5 desserts, I will have 5 desserts 🍦🍩🍰 I take a kind of diet break during this week.
A diet break is a dieting strategy, where you take a break from dieting 🙅🏼♀️ The lenght of a diet break is usually between 7 and 21 days. Normally when you are trying to lose fat, you are in a calorie deficit, what means you eat less calories than you need to mantain you weight. In a diet break, you increase your calories again to maintanence level or even a bit higher ⬆️ This will help you to increase your metabolism again and boost the hormones leptin and T3 🔥 Also a study by Wing et al. (2003) found that there was no difference in final results between a 20 week diet without a break, with a 6 week diet break or with 3 times a 2-week dietbreak. In the end of 20 weeks, the three groups lost the same amount of weight. So a diet break will not ruin your progress ❌ In controverse, it may be helpfull for you mentally and physically! It will make it more sustainable for you to continue with your diet, but is also boosts your matabolism what means it can help you lose more fat 💦 Have you ever took a break from your diet?
