My health and fitness journey is unlike some others, in that I don’t have drastic before and after photos. Partially because I was so unhappy with my body at the time that I sure as hell didn’t want to document my size. I wanted to FORGET it.

I am taking this week to slowly share my story, as boring or interesting as it may seem. Truth be told, I’ve always been active from a young age, with the occasional ebb that led me to those low points.
•
Upon entering elementary school, I began playing soccer, a short-lived two-year stint. I’m a child of divorce, and once my parents split up, it left my mom’s time to cart her 4 children over the city for games very thin. My older brother continued to play baseball for several years, which was enough to fill her extracurricular time.

All that said, I was an avid swimmer from an early age, taking swim lessons at the Gator Pool and continuing every summer at the community pool by my grandmother’s house. Don’t mistake avid for fast— yes, I had great form (minus the butterfly stroke), but I was no Katie Ledecky. This did, however, set the stage for later years.

Middle school came around, and I was a soft little pre-teen. Not the lean tomboy I once was, but also not fat. Just a little fluffy 😉 At this point in time, my oldest brother was in high school, killing it on the track team, and as any younger sibling does, I wanted so badly to follow in his footsteps. So I joined the track team at my middle school. I can’t say that I remember much about practices or meets, just that we had some pretty sweet blue and yellow uniforms.

If I’ve learned anything from that time, it’s that it’s important to start a child’s involvement in team activities early and ensure variety!

Sometimes I have a break from my supps depending on what phase of training I’m in, but there are always supps that I keep into my daily regime no matter what stage I’m at with my training. I’ll always walk out of the gym drinking my WPI and KreAlkalyn supplements. My personal favourite are the @international_protein Amino Charged WPI or Naturals Range WPI. When I can’t decide, I just have both!

Sent my contract, stats and pics to my coach yesterday... feedback= tilt hips back more. Well shit son! This is gonna be a back breaker! Lol! Thank god there will be posing practice and classes. 
I can see now why competitors always say that posing is a workout in itself!! Ouch!! •

Happy Monday! I had such a a great weekend being unplugged with great people! Post prep I think I’ve finally re-learned how to make fitness a part of my life and not my entire life (which is all prep is). I hope you all enjoyed the weekend and are starting your week with a full cup too 💕 .
Here is an upper body blast I’ll be doing today! Focus: arms + a bit of chest:
