Sometimes things come up in your life that you have no control over. It’s family over everything you drop what your doing to help. I had to cancel clients for the rest of the day and I was gonna skip out on my workout. Cause I’m not get answers on what’s going on feeling lost and very concerned! So I didn’t skip out on my workout and I’m happy I didn’t because the iron is therapy, I had time to think go over my thoughts as I was working out. The workout brung a calm over me to where I can really think about what needs to be done. So I used my resources to see what I need to do or what should I do. So I can be the rock my family needs let them know they can lean on me I GOT YOU!! So this bodybuilding and fitness is just more than bodies looking good what we do in the gym to obtain the physique we have is therapy. I’ve been knowing this but I’m writing this for the people that need an outlet to help them in life. Somehow the sun, the moon, and the stars all aligned perfectly today. It’s my birthday, it’s mf’ing leg day, AND we got this new power squat machine at @loscampeonesgym literally as I was warming up to train. I presume it’s a birthday gift from the gym to me.
This is a fun pairing of exercises to blow out your quads courtesy of @allencress_ifbbpro . Giving my the birthday gift that keeps on giving... big ass legs.
1A) Banded Machine Squat, :03 eccentric, :02 pause every rep (slide 1).
** :90 rest **
1B) Machine Squat, no bands, no pauses, steady tempo (slide 2).
** :90 rest, then back to 1A **

[SWIPE FOR TODAY’S BACK WORKOUT▶️▶️▶️] Dont forget the whole purpose behind lifting and building your body. The point is that we’re creating a figure, a body that can support our everyday movements. It’s to allow ourselves to perform at our best, outside of the gym as well. If you train each muscle group with the intention of creating a body that flows and moves together, it’s going to change your outcome and how you experience your results. It’s not just about your numbers or the aesthetics of it all. It’s about your posture, your core, it’s about being able to go hiking when you’re in your 60’s- being able to move your body in all different planes and positions comfortably, for a long time. Be intentional about your training. If you need to slow it way down to connect to what you’re doing, do it. If you need to turn your music off and listen to your breathing in order to understand your tempo, do it. Don’t waste your own time in the gym. Be thoughtful, be intentional, and build something that’s going to benefit you for years to come. [That means proper recover too 😜👍🏻] Here’s what we did today:
1️⃣Barbell Bent Over Rows: 5-6S/6-10R
2️⃣[Double Cable] Single Arm Supinated Pulldown: 4S/8-12R each side
3️⃣Mag Grip Seated Row [W/Forward lean to emphasize lats]
4️⃣Standing Single Arm Lat Row Variation: 4S/6-8R each side [I connected the single Arm Cable attachments here to help give me the angle I wanted- loved it]
5️⃣Single Arm Machine High Row: 4S/10-12R 3 sec negative on each rep
6️⃣Single Arm Supinated Grip Dumbbell Row: 4S/8R drop 10R every set
7️⃣Machine Lat pulldown: 4S/6R drop 8R drop 10R EVERY SET
Lower body has always been a weakness for me.
Started leg day off with some easy squats 5x5 @ 205
Focus on technique and staying pain free
Eccentric neg, explosive concentric squats 3x8 @ 135
Stif-leg DL 3x15 @ 155
SL standing curls SS w/ sissy squats
Walking lunges w/ chain SS w/ 4x10 good mornings

Leg day was lit!
Primarily power lifting these days, but still like to throw some weight around once a week.

1. Hammer strength Bench Press, 2. Smith Machine Incline Press, 3. Peck Deck Flys 4. DB Bench Presses I like to exhaust my chest with other Presses then go heavy with DB Presses then end with another fly movement! #thedefinition #motivation #campjansen #working
One thing I’ve always been was hungry to do my best to be one of the best. After this years Olympia being on the stage with the best of the best critiquing myself against the best seeing where I need to improve got my hungry at a all time high!
